Labradorite & Amethyst: the power to change, the strength to cope with it
Two of my favorite (and most popular) gemstones that I work with are labradorite and amethyst. At a very young age I discovered what amethyst was as it was my mother’s birthstone and she adored it. It took me many years to want to learn more and longer still to discover my jewelry making abilities. When I did discover those abilities I found this glorious, flashy stone called labradorite. Both labradorite and amethyst show up in my pieces with great frequency.

Both labradorite and amethyst have a great deal to do with change. Amethyst can bring about great change in your life. Many feel that the stone brings about spiritual growth, building strength and courage. Others feel that it fights black magic or dark and negative energies. My mom was one of these people, clutching the stone to ward off the evil nonsense spewing forth from a certain dark witch from my childhood. See: this painting.
Labradorite is the stone you want to keep close when you are going through major changes. It is a fantastic dark into light gemstone, taking darker and unwanted qualities and replacing them with positive energies. Told to provide quick relief from anxiety, depression and hopelessness; it replaces them with self-confidence, enthusiasm and inspiration. When one is experiencing times of conflict and change, Labradorite is said to offer perseverance, strength, and enhanced inner intuition to assist in that time of disruption.
I have a few pieces left right now in my etsy shop like the ones below.
